Objectives and Core Values

The NJROTC program provides an opportunity for secondary school students to learn the basic elements and requirements for national security and their personal obligations as American citizens to contribute to national security. The NJROTC program has the following objectives:

1. Promote patriotism
2. Develop informed and responsible citizens
3. Promote habits of orderliness and precision and to develop respect for constituted authority
4. Develop a high degree of personal honor, self-reliance, individual discipline, and leadership
5. Promote an understanding of the basic elements and requirements of national security
6. Develop respect for an understanding of the need for constituted authority in a democratic society
7. Develop an interest in the military services as a possible career

Core Values of the NJROTC

As members of the NJROTC, we are dedicated to the Core Values of HONOR, COURAGE, and COMMITMENT to build the foundation of trust and leadership upon which our NJROTC unit is based. These are the principles which will give us strength and guide us in our daily activities; we will be faithful to these Core Values as our abiding duty and privilege.
