Annual Events

• Before the beginning of the school year the unit holds a mini bootcamp for the new students in the NJROTC program (Naval Science 1). It is an overnight camp held at NAS Atlanta. This is normally two weeks before the start of school.
• In the week before school starts, our unit has team practices to get ready for upcoming events. Shortly after the school year starts, the unit holds a Fall Welcome Picnic. This welcomes the cadets back to school and lets the parents get to know each other.
• Once a year our unit takes a trip to Ft. Benning, normally in the fall, to watch a Ranger graduation. In February our unit hosts a Military Ball. It's an event that cadets look forward to year after year.
• Each year our unit is inspected for overall performance. Last year our inspecting officer was CDR Reaves from Moorehouse College. This event is held at North Cobb High School in the early spring. Our unit takes a trip to Parris Island in the spring to see what it is like to be a Marine Corps Recruit.
• The Pass in Review for all Cobb County JROTC units is held towards the end of the school year. Each year it is held at a different high school.
• At the end of each year, our unit hosts an awards banquet to recognize the hard work and dedication of our outstanding cadets.
• Another event held at the end of each year is the unit picnic to say goodbye for another summer.
